The Primetime Emmy-winning "Cross of Fire" is set in the 1920s, when the Ku Klux Klan was at the height of its political power in Indiana, and opens with the resurgence of the Klan under the leadership of David 'Steve' Stephenson. Due to the gaining traction of a 1925 rape and murder charge, Stephenson deservedly crashes and burns in startling fashion, but his followers still haven't wised up.
